After the National Commission on Parliamentary Electoral
Law Reform submitted its draft electoral law to Lebanese Prime Minister in June
2006, exhaustive brainstorming sessions were held among team members of ArabiaGIS,
seeCOSM, and Civil Campaign for Election Reform (CCER),to build a state-of-the-art elections portal that
will help in educating and spreading awareness among the public at large about the
Electoral Reform Law (a.k.a. Boutros Law) in support of the process, political participation,
and democracy.
After months of non-stop technical work and revisions,
ArabiaGIS developed three (3) engines using cutting-edge technology for the Elections
Portal:
Elections Explorer:
The public can use this engine to see information on a highly visualized map of
Lebanon including demographic distribution of voters, number of parliament seats
designated to each district, in addition to many other insightful data. (Click Here)
Elections Simulator: With this engine the public can go through the exciting
process of simulating an actual election process by creating lists, indicating names
